Customized solutions

Mecartex’s current products are the result of a process led by innovation and seized opportunities. The team has combined its vast experience in engineering and manufacturing, gained during the 15 years of activities, collaborating with research centers, like EPFL, CERN or CSEM or industries like AgieCharmilles Group, CP Automation or FEMTOprint, with customized development, thus allowing Mecartex to reach the optimal “design for production.”

Mecartex’s engineering activities are opportunity based and concentrate mainly on custom solution development where the new solution has a potential future market for both parties. In order to better exploit resources, Mecartex uses a

systematic evaluation process before diving into a new project. Mecartex is able to address different phases of the development process from the feasibility study to the industrial prototype. Therefore it can quickly offer a unique and original

solutions to solve clients problems. Thanks to the infrastructure in house, in our headquarter in Muzzano where Mecartex is based, a mass production and assembly can also be considered. For further information, please consult our Case Studies.

Manufacturing

  • Mechanical Components

The ability to manufacture complex mechanical parts combining milling and EDM process is one of the main capabilities of Mecartex. Mecartex runs four EDM and three 5 axis milling machines. Mecartex operates as mechanical supplier principally in the field of  high precision industries, of high-end watches optoelectronics and since July 2017, when Mecartex obtained the ISO 13485:2016 certification,  in medical field. The excellent competencies in manufacturing are key factors for the development phase of new products, giving Mecartex the possibility to define a better design for manufacturing and a shorter time-to-market for new solutions.

  • The EDM Technology

Electric Discharge Machining (EDM) is a non traditional method of removing material by a series of rapidly recurring electric arcing discharges between an electrode (the cutting tool) and the workpiece. EDM is key technology in the direct manufacturing of complex precision components.
